Application
Application for membership is open to all, using the form below. Applicants holding current Firearm or Shotgun certificates should provide certificate numbers, expiry dates and specify the issuing (FLU) police authority. Applicants holding SCC, RCO or RSO certificates and those with First Aider qualifications should provide certificate numbers, details of certifying bodies and dates of expiry. Full (legal) names are required, matching those on an FAC where appropriate. Most fields are compulsory. Those not applicable may be completed with “n/a”.
Two referees are normally required to propose and to support an application. The proposer must be a current Full member of the VAA, and have been a member for at least two years. The application should be supported (seconded) by a VAA committee member. If referees are not yet available then state “none” in these fields.
By submitting the form, the Applicant is accepting the VAA Terms of Membership, the Constitution and GDPR policy, and declaring that they are not prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition by virtue of Section 21 of the Firearms Act 1968. The Association will make any enquiries deemed necessary, and will contact the Applicant in due course. Full (including Jersey) member fees shown are subject to a reduction depending on the date of application. The full annual subscriptions fall due at membership renewal on April 1st. No payment is required with the application form.
Details of the appropriate subscription fee and instructions for payment will be notified to a successful applicant with their offer of membership. All members are required to serve a period of probation during which they will be supervised while in possession of firearms and/or ammunition as directed by the Range Conducting Officer.
Contact the Membership Secretary for any other enquiries concerning the Application process. For all general enquiries, please contact the Association here.
